# Quick Start

This tutorial assumes you have already added the bot to your Discord server.\
If you haven't, please follow our [introduction](/introduction.md#adding-exoguard-to-your-server) before you come back to this page.

***

Once you have invited the bot, here are the most important steps to follow:

1. As the server owner, [setup the audit webhook](/tutorials/audit-webhook-setup.md#setting-the-audit-webhook) (recommended)
2. As a staff member, [enroll with Exoguard](/tutorials/enroll-yourself.md) on the Discord server
3. As an administrator, [assign a role](/commands.md#config-roles-add) to the enrolled staff member
4. As an enrolled staff member, [log in](/commands.md#login) to obtain your assigned role

You can then configure the integration to your needs whenever you want:

* The default session timeout is 8 hours, [it can be configured](/commands.md#config-settings-session_timeout) between 1 and 24 hours
* Default permissions work but may not be ideal, please [check out our recommendations](/tutorials/permissions.md#recommendations)

If you need more features or higher limits, check out our [subscriptions](/service/subscriptions.md) to get:

* Your very own `dis.gg` link upon request, for a fancier Discord server invite to share
* More roles per user and more users in total, for bigger and/or more complex teams
* An unrestricted session timeout, for uses that may not fit our standard use-cases
* Temporary role assignments, for server staff members on a fixed term or on trial
* An enrollment inactivity period, to automatically unenroll inactive staff members

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.exoguard.io/introduction/quick-start.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
